Everything You Need to Know About the iPhone 13 Pro

 August 10, 2022

The iPhone 13 Pro has been out since early 2018, and it’s still one of the most popular phones on the market. And while you may be happy with your current phone, there are some features that make the iPhone 13 Pro stand out from its peers. The extra camera lenses give you more options when taking photos, and the enormous battery life lasts longer than most other phones on the market. Of course, if you’re thinking about switching to this phone, it can be difficult to know where to start, which is why we put together this guide to everything you need to know about the iPhone 13 Pro.

1. The iPhone 13 Pro Revealed

The iPhone 13 Pro was revealed in September 2018 by Apple when it revealed the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Plus. While the 2018 iPhones are named after their amounts of storage, I think that the 13 Pro’s name could easily be changed. The extra one found in this phone would make sense, as it denotes that there are three more cameras on this phone, making it more powerful than its rivals. The company has also been known to create flagships almost annually since 2016, so I think calling these phones ‘versions’ is a good idea.

2. More Cameras

The iPhone 13 Pro has three cameras in total, with two lenses for the wide-angle or telephoto lens. The first one is focused on true tone flash photography, which allows you to adjust the white balance of your photos for a better colour that is true to what you saw when you took it. The second and third cameras are similar because they’re both 2 m pixels, which means that they capture more detail than 1 m pixels found in most other phones. This helps out with detailed photos, but I think it’s mainly useful for depth mapping and augmented reality.

3. Better Wide-Angle Lens

The wide-angle lens is the first one and offers the same f/1.8 aperture as the main wide-angle lens, but it has three cameras instead of two. This means that it’s better at shooting in low light and has less of a chance of getting distorted or blurry than wider lenses on other phones. As an extra bonus, this camera also lets you choose between shooting standard or oversize photos, so if you want a little more detail than what the regular photo mode provides, this is a great option to have.

4. AR Emoji

AR Emoji is a feature that was introduced with the original iPhone X and is now in its third generation. The feature uses the front-facing camera to create an avatar that looks like you, and it uses artificial intelligence to help it mimic your facial expressions. I think this is a great feature for those who are looking for security because it lets you see who is contacting you on your home screen. It can also be used to put yourself in your photos, but then again, so can Snapchat filters which are much less work.

5. Face ID

Face ID is an iris scanning system that lets you unlock your phone with your face. It should be noted that iPhone X and later models have facial recognition, so if you’ve invested in one of those phones and are unhappy with it, don’t feel like you need to buy the iPhone 13 Pro to get the same experience. The phone also has five points of contact, meaning that it can scan your face from behind or over part of your body. The TrueDepth camera array is also useful for unlocking the phone when the screen is off or when you’re wearing glasses.

Overall, the iPhone 13 Pro is a great phone. It has the best camera quality of its kind that I’ve ever seen in a smartphone, and the features that surround it are all useful in one way or another. With more AR Emoji features and face tracking technology being introduced to other phones, this phone may be even more useful in the future. Whether you’re already an iPhone user or you haven’t invested in one yet, I think this is a phone that is worth getting if you have the money to spare.
